The Bridge

The Bridge
I have now been in rehab for 45 days and it has been a very enlightening experience. It has allowed me to test my internal healing abilities. During my years of martial arts training and during the time I trained to become a Taoist master in South Korea I learned techniques that allowed me to improve and bring balance to my mind body and spirit. My past training has been a major factor in my ability to address this current experience but I am not sure if anything could have prepared me for the last 45 days.

“The mind is the bridge between the spiritual world and the physical world”, a powerful statement made by my friend Astrologer Gale Armstead during a recent visit. The cast on both my legs are off and now the really hard work will begin; learning to walk again. This is a very painful therapy because after having both legs straight for so long they become stiff and very hard to bend. The mind can entertain thoughts of darkness or thoughts of light. Thoughts of positive light will allow the healing spiritual energy to pass though the mind to strengthen and heal the body.

I am sharing this experience with you because I have been able to put theory into practice. Positive thoughts are healing; negative thoughts block spiritual energy and can be destructive to the healing balance of mind body and spirit. If you are reading this article you might be experiencing some type of emotional or physical pain; you might also be wondering why you, why is this happening to you. I suggest that you embrace your pain as an opportunity for mental and spiritual growth.

Try to keep your thoughts positive allow your mind to become a bridge between the spiritual world of the universal mind and your physical body. Do not allow fear and doubt to attract negative low frequency dark thoughts. If you can do this you will find ways to overcome you physical or emotional pain. Not only will you become a better person but you will be able to become a positive influence to others without trying to.

There is a saying that all things are beneficial, a very difficult concept to embrace but with faith you can allow your mind to become a bridge for spiritual and physical development and healing; if you can do this your ability to embrace this concept will be less difficult; take it from someone who is not just talking but will soon be walking, it works.

The Gift of Prayer

The Gift of Prayer
I believe that prayer is a gift given to us at birth, a gift that allows our thoughts to manifest into reality based on our faith. When we pray who are we praying to? Most will say that we are praying to God for help, guidance and abilities. Over the centuries organized religion has confused the concept of prayer due to a confused concept of God.

Wars are still being fought to prove whose God is the greatest. Man’s interpretation of God has all too often been used to determine when and how one prays. Many have moved from a religious interpretation of God to a spiritual interpretation of God; making prayer more of an act of faith then a religious act.

A spiritual interpretation of God allows one to understand that God is no different than gravity there is no discrimination; if a Jew, a Muslim and a Christen jump off a roof the universal law of gravity will apply to each one, the unconditional love of God or the universal mind is no different. The ancient Egyptians considered God to be energy or The All.

Modern science has proven that all things are energy and that energy is all things. Ancient prophets considered the human body to be the Temple of God. Many of those prophets were put to death by the same people who then built temples to worship them.

In prayer the subconscious mind is considered to be the human connection to God or the mind of the universe. Joseph Murphy describes prayer in has book The Power of Your Subconscious Mind, this way: “Prayer is the synchronized, harmonious, and intelligent function of the conscious and subconscious levels of mind specifically directed for a definite purpose”.

Murphy goes on to say “In prayer you consciously choose a certain idea, mental picture, or plan which you desire to experience. You realize your capacity to convey this idea or mental image to your subconscious by feeling the reality of the state assumed. As you remain faithful in your mental attitude, your prayer will be answered”. The key word is faith.

In prayer one must have faith that they were created with a gift of thought manifestation. If you can allow yourself to believe that you have this ability your concept of prayer will change. The most important thing to understand is that you have used this ability all your life. The mental pictures that you convey to your subconscious based on your beliefs have often manifested in your life. All too often many of our mental pictures have been based on fear and doubt rather than faith and compassion.

Prayer is an important self-healing tool. Any method which causes you to move from fear and doubt to faith and expectancy will heal”. Prayer can not only be a tool for self-healing it can also be used as a vehicle to heal others. I am a living example of this and I would like to thank those who have sent me healing energy through their thoughts and prayers.

Spring Detoxifying

Spring Detoxifying
The Five Elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water) are the foundation for Taoist healing strategies. Each element has a different energy vibration and frequency in relationship to vital organs, planets, directions, seasons, taste, color and a host of other relationships that ancient Taoist sages connected to each of the five elements in order to better understand the human body.

Wood is the element related to spring. The two vital organs connected to the Wood element are the Liver (yin) and the Gall Bladder (yang). Jupiter is the planet and east is the direction. Spring is the season; sour is the taste and green is the color. Wood is the element of infancy. We often relate to spring as a time to clean and make new. Spring is an important time for detoxifying the Liver and Gall Bladder the Wood organs.

The Gall Bladder is a pear shaped sack located in a depression under the liver on your right side.  The function of the, Gall Bladder is to store and concentrate bile until it is needed in the small intestine for digestion. The bile breaks down fats in food.  If the Gall Bladder gets congested with bile salts or bacteria; the bile will isolate it and form a pearl-like stone around it.  You do not want this to happen. Irritability and uptightness can weaken the Gall Bladder in the spring.

The Liver stores large quantities of blood, minerals, and vitamins. The liver produces bile salts which are distributed by the Gall Bladder into the small intestine to absorb fats from the food that we eat. The Liver also stores all the toxins, poisons, chemicals, and drugs that the body takes in. The Liver then breaks down poisons chemically into less toxic compounds that can be easily eliminated. Toxins stay in the liver a long time. If the amount of toxic becomes too high gallstones can develop. Anger and frustration can weaken the liver in the spring.

Your Will

Your Will
In his book on spiritual healing (Being Centered) Romen Oleh Yaworsky writes “Your will allows you to function in the world according to your intentions and in harmony with your feelings”. It is not always easy to accept the fact that if you would like to change your internal or external environment your greatest asset is your well to do so. We all too often allow other people or situations interrupt our ability to use the manifestation power of our will. There is a great deal of truth in the saying “Where there is a will there is a way”.

If you follow my articles you know that for the past few weeks I have been in The Amsterdam House rehabilitation facility recovering from an accident, my situation has provided me an opportunity to practice my theory of mental healing. The will to heal is the first step in the healing process, a process that always starts internally. When you use your will with intent the healing process improves faster. This ability is a gift that we all have but you must have faith. You must never allow fear and doubt rob you of this gift.

It is always important to believe in your ability to use your will power to heal, never allow anyone to take that ability away from you even your doctors or wellness practitioners. In my personal experience I have seen a doctor tell a patient, that there is nothing else that can be done; but the will of the patient proved the doctor to be wrong. Never allow anyone to take away your will to overcome health or any type of condition. Never give up the fight.

While doing my Taoist master training in South Korea I was told a very old story that speaks to the truth of the above statement. Once there was a famous Korean Taoist master healer, people came from far and near for his advice and healing skills. One day two men were among the many waiting to see the master healer one had a terminal illness the other had a very bad cold.

The master healer’s aids got the two patient’s reports mixed up. When the master healer read the report of the person with the cold he told him that he had a terminal disease and would only live a few more months he gave the patient a few herbs to allow him to live out his few months in peace. When the master healer reviewed the report of the patient with the terminal disease he assure him that if he took the special herbs he prepared he would be well in a few weeks.

A few months letter the master healer had a surprise visit from the patient who had the terminal illness. The patient was very happy and full of gratitude. The master healer was shocked but after discovering the mix up asked his aids about the patient who had the bad cold; only to learn that the patient had died not long after the last visit. Never let anyone take away your will to live, was the moral to the story

The Bank of Positive Action

The Bank of Positive Action
Many of you who read my articles may have noticed that they have been absent for the last two weeks. The reason is an unfortunate mishap; I had a strange fall that left both legs in a cast from thigh to ankle and four fractured toes on my right foot. Yesterday I was able to get into a wheel chair today I am writing my first article since my accident. Most of the doctors that have treated me have been amazed on the uniqueness of my situation. Some might view this to be a terrible experience I must confess those “why me” thoughts crossed my mind a few times.

My journey towards recovery started when I chose to use this experience as a vehicle to improve my mind, body and spirit. All healing begins internally, I realized this was an excellent opportunity to work on my self-healing techniques; abilities that we often take for granted. The same mental thought that we use to raise our arms can also be used to influence the internal workings of our body. It makes no difference how good your external health care regiment may be, if your mental and spiritual healing abilities are not working your overall healing will be negatively affected.

I came up with the title of this article after reflecting on a conversation I had with a close friend Carrie Robinson. I was explaining to Carrie how moved I was with the many calls visits and well-wishers from friends, associates and relatives; Carrie’s response was that’s because you have made so many positive deposits to others. After thinking about that conversation for a while I realized it came to me that there are many deposits and withdrawals in the bank of life.

Helping others can be viewed as a positive action or a deposit, thinking only of self at the expense of others can be viewed as a negative action or a withdrawal. If you have more withdrawals then deposits your account will become bankrupt in the bank of life. I am grateful for all the well-wishers I will be in rehab for the next four to six weeks.

My rehab facility is the Amsterdam House located at 112th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. I have no doubt that I will leave this place a better person.  The next few articles will focus on my development and insight in this new journey send me an email at urbanologysystems@gmail.com , with any thoughts you might have that will help me along the way. All things happen for a reason; I am sure in time I will understand why  the mind of the Universe decided should be here.
