Gratitude: The Quality of Being Thankful

Gratitude: The Quality of Being Thankful
A common cause of depression is the inability to recognize our blessings. If you are reading this dialog and you are depressed, be thankful, the mind of the universe is sending you a message. We become depressed because we focus on depressing things, things that we fear and don’t want. What you think about often will manifest in your reality. When we think about the life we would like to have with faith and without fear and doubt we have the ability to transform the reality of our lives; for this we should be thankful.

Gratitude is the quality of being thankful. A simple word like “think you” is an easy way to show gratitude. It can be difficult to show gratitude if you are not aware that you have been born with the blessing of thought manifestation and all that you need to be happy. Nothing or no one outside of yourself can truly make you happy. The foundation of happiness is internal; we are all socially programmed to believe that the key to our happiness is external.

Often our thoughts of depression come from our socially programmed illusionary view of our limitations and lack of the external things that we feel would make us happy.  Do you ever wonder when you read about some famous wealthy person committing suicide when it seems that they could have had any material thing that they wanted?  On reason for this anomaly is when you can have any material thing that you want and you are still unhappy; life losses its value.

We have the gift to manifest changes in our lives and our external environment, when you become aware of this fact, every morning that you wake up you should be thankful and show gratitude for another day and ability to change your life. All things happen for a reason when we face disappointment, setbacks and tragedy we often become depressed and wonder why something like this would happen to us.

Another way to address disappointments, setbacks and tragedy is to look for ways to use them to allow you to rise to a higher consciousness, learn to use the experience to make you a better person, a person who can become an example that will inspire others. If you can do this you can realize that there can be a benefit in all things.

Never allow yourself to feel that there is nothing that you can do to improve your current situation, you have the ability to use your mind to change your internal and external reality. The only person that stands in your way is you, when you move your programmed self out of your way; the seemingly impossible can become possible. For this ability you should be thankful and find ways to show your gratitude.

Ayurveda: The Science of Life, Prevention and Longevity

Ayurveda: The Science of Life, Prevention and Longevity

My first introduction to natural healing wellness methods was the study of Ayurvedic medicine. Ayurveda pronounced “eye-oor-vay-dah” is considered by many in the East as the mother of all healing arts; it is known as the science of life, prevention and longevity.

Ayurveda has its roots in India, where two-thousand-year old Ayurvedic writings have been found. This knowledge is also recorded in two of the Vedic texts: the Atharva and the Rig, which are more than five thousand years old. Ayurveda was studied in other ancient cultures. China, Egypt, Tibet, and West Africa all adapted it into their own natural healing systems. The early Greeks brought Ayurveda to Europe from Egypt.

I studied Ayurvedic medicine under Dr. Alex Guervaz at the New York Ayurvedic Center. Dr Guervaz is a medical doctor specializing in pathology and allopathic medicine. Dr. Guervaz studied under the well-known Seami Sada Shiva at the famous Bayville, New York Ayurvedic Center. I became a certified Ayurvedic medicine practitioner in 1995. My certification was awarded by the Hindi Sahitya Sammeian University in Allahabad India.

Ayurveda specializes in holistic natural remedies and prevention, and it focuses on rebuilding the cells and tissues to support longevity. Ayurvedic healing tools are herbs, yoga exercises, Vedic massages, steam therapy, and sauna aromatherapy.
An Ayurvedic practitioner will use a personalized method of conducting a healing program by analyzing the individual’s constitution, also called the “health blueprint” or “body type.” This information is obtained through questionnaires that identify your body’s characteristics, known as the three doshas,or tridosha: Vata (air), Pitta (fire) or Kapha (water).

Pulse and urine analysis are also used. It was during this time that I was introduced to Uropathy, the study of urine therapy (see www.theartofwarogers.info). The focus of Ayurvedic healing is the search for the root cause of illness by using methods related to the five senses: taste (herbs) smell (aromatherapy), touch (oil massages), sound (mantras) and sight (color therapy). In addition, it promotes a healthy balance of five natural elements: earth, water, fire, air, and ether.

Dr. Scott Gerson writes in his book Ayurveda: The Ancient Indian Healing Art that “All matter is composed of the five elements, which are the building blocks of existence, but only living matter has the three doshas, the three forces which govern all processes. The term dosha means ‘that which darkens or causes things to decay,’ reflecting the fact that, when out of balance, the doshas are causative forces in the disease process.”

While I no longer practice Ayurveda medicine, like many of my ancient ancestors, I have adapted Ayurveda healing strategies in Ki treatments and training at our Harlem Ki Energy Center. For further information or to make an appointment to visit the Ki Energy Center call 646 329-6727.

Energy Healing

Energy Healing
The human body is made of energy; energy Healing is a way of creating a balance of the body’s energy source to address illness which is an imbalance of energy in our body. Einstein showed through physics what Taoist sages understood thousands of years ago. Everything in the material world is made of energy and all things radiate energy. In the human body specific states of wellness can be determined by the electromagnetic waves emitted. Understanding the wave signals emitted from the body can determine the status of our health or illness.

Quantum medicine considers the cause of sickness to be the change of spin of electrons outside the atomic nucleus and the orbit change, which causes the change of small and large biomolecules, the change of all cells and finally the change of organs. Because the electron is a changed body, when the spin of electrons outside the atomic nucleus and orbit change, the electromagnetic wave emitted by the atoms will change.

There is now a technology that can determine the wellness of the body by analyzing the strength or weakness of the electromagnetic waves emitted by the atoms that comprise every vital organ in the human body. A machine known as The Quantum Resonance Magnetic Analyzer (QRMA) developed in China is now being used by wellness practitioners to develop a computerized report on the status of every internal component of a client’s body.

The QRMA is a small box that is connected to a computer; the client will hold a testing rod which is connected to the QRMA for about five minutes while the machine scans the electromagnetic waves emitted from the client’s body. The QRMA software will allow the client to receive a comprehensive report card on the functions and health status of all of the vital organs within the body. QRMA report will give the client the opportunity to identify and correct the internal body issues that need to be address based on the reports findings.

Ki Energy treatments and training can be one option, Homeopathic remedies could be another. A change in life style may also be necessary to bring balance to the issue in question. A client might also take the report to his or her doctor for advice. The most important thing is to have an understanding about what is going on inside your body. Perhaps even more important is to be given advice on ways to address any health issues in the report.

The Age of Aquarius

The Age of Aquarius in 2016
Last Sunday I attended a 2016 New Year Forecast lecture at the Apollo Theater presented by the Wisdom Temple which featured a presentation by Astrologists Gale Armstead. Gale’s talked about the new Aquarian age and how to prepare for it as we move into the New Year motivated further research to write my first article for 2016.

Astrologers maintain that an astrological age is a product of the earth’s slow precessional rotation and last for 2,160 years on average (26,000-year period of precession/ 12 zodiac signs = 2,160 years) In Sun sign astrology the sign of Aquarius comes before Pisces but in astrological ages the signs move in the opposite direction allowing the Age of Aquarius to follow the Age of Pisces.

Enlightenment and the expansion of consciousness were the two main factors that Gale and many astrologers predict will be experienced by a greater number of people in this beginning shift from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius. The Mayan Great Cycle and early Egyptian astrological predictions agreed that 2012 would be the true beginning of the shift ending one cycle and the start of a new cycle.

Astrologist Vera Reid attributes many of the current World crises to the transition from the external material mental energy of the Age of Pisces to the incoming internal spiritual mental energy of the Age of Aquarius which takes 280 years to complete. If the cycle shift started in 2012, we most likely will not be around in 2292 (276 years from now) when the cycle is completed; but we are blessed to be a part of the beginning.

Reid believes that some people will experience mental enlightenment in advance of others and will be recognized as new leaders in the beginning of the new age. Astrologist Sandra Weaver also believes that the great turmoil in the world during this early stage of Aquarius is a way of making room for new values of love, brotherhood, unity and integrity.

Weaver states that “the Aquarian Age points to the direction of our own evolution in consciousness. We are each being asked to make a choice. We can cling to the old outdated values or adopt the new evolving ones. Our happiness and peace depends on our choice and the change will take place whether we like it or not.

If you are reading this article it is for a reason, you now are aware that your ability to elevate your spiritual consciousness is greater now than ever before; don’t let fear and doubt stand in your way to self-empowerment.
Ben and Gale Armstead will host a Psychic Fair on Sunday January 10th at Black River Studios located at 345 Malcolm X Blvd. (Lenox Ave.) for information call 212 410-6755.
