The colon, also known as the large intestine is close to the length of your own height. The major function of the colon is to eliminate waste from the body; it is the end portion of the human digestive tract. The average person holds about 10 to 50 lbs. of dried fecal matter in their colon. Many of our health problems are caused by that accumulation of wastes and toxins.
Colon Hydrotherapy is a safe and very effective method of cleansing the colon of accumulated wastes and toxins. Dating back to early Egypt, this deep cleansing permits other organs of elimination (skin, lungs, liver, and kidneys) to operate more effectively, thereby providing cellular detoxification throughout the body allowing for an improved absorption of nutrients.
Colon hydrotherapy better known as Colonics will stimulate the immune system; help the body release toxins which will cleanse the blood plus restore and address a wide range of symptoms related to colon dysfunction. We should have a bowel movement for every meal we eat; otherwise, food residues are lying in the colon for more than twelve hours. When this happens toxins can pass into the bloodstream as polluted products, the beginning of toxemia.
Toxemia is a generic term for the presence of toxins in the blood. Many cancer patients die because of toxemia. They literally die from their own internal pollution. Many drugs taken by cancer patients can cause chronic constipation which makes the evacuation of the accumulation of feces in the bowel difficult and at time impossible. Colon cancer is a major cause of cancer in the United States after heart disease and lung cancer. Approximately 48.000 people die of colon cancer per year.
When the bowel is toxic it can harbor a great variety of very harmful bacteria and parasites. Today worms outrank cancer as man’s deadliest enemy on a worldwide basis. Worms can range in size from microscopic single-celled animals to twenty-foot tapeworms and are known to kill more people annually than cancer. One in four people in the world today are infected by roundworms.
Colon hydrotherapy is a safe holistic way to help free the body of parasites, accumulated toxins and other waste material. Weight loss, joint problems, allergies, asthma, skin problems, and toxicity from drugs, alcohol, hypertension, depression and lung problems caused by smoking are many of the human health issues that can be addressed by colon hydrotherapy.
Talmie L. de Shimadai one of the country’s leading colon hydrotherapy practitioners and a I-ACT certified instructor for Colon Hydrotherapy will be a featured speaker at the City College Holistic Wellness Expo on Saturday April 28th a part of the 1st Annual Harlem Holistic Wellness Day Celebration.
The Holistic Wellness Expo will be sponsored by the City College Continuing and Professional Studies Department. Ms. De Shimadai will teach a Colon Hydrotherapy certification course at the college in the Fall.

We are now in the age of the creative mind our thoughts have more power than ever before. We are at the beginning of this new cycle but in time it will become more apparent that the frequency of thought will liberate or imprison us. This concept is not new; thought manifestation has been a guarded secret for centuries only a few have truly understood the power of thought. In 1912 Charles F. Haanel published the Master Key System a guide to self-empowerment through thought manifestation.
Haanel considered abundance to be a universal law and those who placed themselves in harmony with that law would share in its benefits. According to Haanel mind shapes and controls matter. Every form which matter takes is but the expression of some preexisting thought. You can originate thought, and since thoughts are creative, you can create for yourself the things you desire.
The universal law of thought manifestation is stronger now which means we have to become more aware of the power that our thoughts have on our internal and external environments. Now more than ever your thoughts should be on what you desire not what you fear. In 1912 Haanel wrote that fear and doubt were the greatest obstacles to the human development of thought manifestation. In 2012 those who are not aware of the power of thought will self-destruct from negative thinking influenced by fear and doubt.
Health and money will be two important factors affected by this new age of creative thought. People think that I am over optimistic when I say that in time compassion will overcome greed. Perhaps not in my life time but if greed and fear become a major cause of the loss of both wealth and health; while a holistic approach to life becomes more profitable and healthy, many will adept and change. Many will not but nature is selective only the species that can adept will reach the next stage of development.
People throughout the world are turning to a holistic approach to health which means finding ways to balance mind, body and spirit. When we talk of creative abundance the wellness industry is growing faster than it has ever before. This is a good thing; April 22nd is Earth Day successful businesses have been created to help protect our environment. On April 28th millions of people throughout the world will celebrate world Healing Day and World Tai Chi & Qigong Day. Harlem will celebrate the 1st Annual Harlem Holistic Wellness Day with two major events. A free Holistic Wellness Expo at the City College of New York. The second event is the fifth annual Harlem venue for World Tai Chi and Qigong Day which will take place at 135th Street and St Nicholas Avenue in the Park.
Holistic Wellness is a way of life. A focus on bringing balance to the mind the body and the spirit is becoming more important than ever to live a healthy life. Compassion and love are two of the strongest healing energies; join the millions worldwide who will use collective thought on April 28th and every last Saturday in April to think of love, peace and abundance. Holistic Wellness Day in Harlem
On Saturday April 28th millions of people throughout the world will focus on holistic wellness options during World Healing Day www.worldhealingday.org and World Tai Chi and Qigong Day www.worldtaichiday.org . April 28th will also mark the first annual Holistic Wellness Day in Harlem with two major events a Holistic Wellness Expo at The City College of New York and the fifth annual World Tai Chi and Qigong Day celebration in Harlem.
The desire to find natural ways to address health has become a growing interest for a host of reasons in this country and throughout the world. Many believe that 2012 was the beginning of new cycle of spiritual awareness. I believe it marks the next stage of human evolution. Nature is selective and if the cycle of spiritual awareness is replacing the cycle of material desire, a different mindset will be necessary to maintain our health and wellbeing.
Holistic wellness options such as Acupuncture, Ki Energy treatment and training, Homeopathy, Yoga, Aromatherapy, Hydrotherapy, Tai Chi, Iridology and Ayurveda are but a few of the wellness information exhibits that will be at the first Holistic Wellness Expo sponsored by the City College of New York’s Continuing and Professional Studies program www.cps.ccny.edu .
Dr. Robert Woodbine is coordinating the 5th annual Harlem celebration of World Tai Chi & Qigong Day in St Nicholas Park at 135th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue. The park is a pathway to City College which will provide the opportunity to participate in the two free events.
Thanks to the vision of Dr. Robert Woodbine for the past four years the St. Nicholas Park venue has been a part of World Tai Chi and Qigong Day an international movement to focus on Tai Chi and Qigong for health and world peace at the same time of day on the last Saturday in April. Many of the top Tai Chi and Qigong masters in the Tri State area will teach free classes in the park on that day.
The City College Holistic Health Expo will also provide the opportunity to register for Spring , Summer and Fall wellness classes that that are part of the new Holistic Wellness and You courses offered by the CCNY Continuing and professional Studies program. Many of the instructors will have exhibits at the expo.
The Harlem News will have a special Holistic Wellness section in the special Thursday April 26th Family Health publication of our weekly paper which is also online at www.harlemnewsgroup.com . This will give alternative health and wellness organizations, businesses and practitioners the opportunity to promote their services in the Family Health publication which will be distributed at the expo on April 28th, and in urban communities across New York.
The long term objective of the annual Harlem Holistic Wellness day will be to provide a platform for wellness practitioners in Upper Manhattan to promote their services, and collectively provide alternative health education and options to the community.
Our Ki Energy Center will participate in both events if you would like more information on the April 28th Holistic Wellness Day call my office at 646 329-6727 or send an email to email@example.com. The Five Elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water) are the foundation for Taoist healing strategies. Each element has a different energy vibration and frequency in relationship to vital organs, planets, directions, seasons, taste, color and a host of other relationships that ancient Taoist sages connected to each of the five element in order to better understand the human body. Wood is the element related to spring.
The two vital organs connected to the Wood element are the Liver (yin) and the Gall Bladder (yang). Jupiter is the planet and east is the direction. Spring is the season; sour is the taste and green is the color. Wood is the element of infancy. We often relate to spring as a time to clean and make new. Spring is an important time for detoxifying the Liver and Gall Bladder the Wood organs.
The Gall Bladder is a pear shaped sack located in a depression under the liver on your right side. The function of the, Gall Bladder is to store and concentrate bile until it is needed in the small intestine for digestion. The bile breaks down fats in food. If the Gall Bladder gets congested with bile salts or bacteria; the bile will isolate it and form a pearl-like stone around it. You do not want this to happen. Irritability and uptightness can weaken the Gall Bladder in the spring.
The Liver stores large quantities of blood, minerals, and vitamins. The liver produces bile salts which are distributed by the Gall Bladder into the small intestine to absorb fats from the food that we eat. The Liver also stores all the toxins, poisons, chemicals, and drugs that the body takes in. The Liver then breaks down poisons chemically into less toxic compounds that can be easily eliminated. Toxins stay in the liver a long time. If the amount of toxic becomes too high gallstones can develop. Anger and frustration can weaken the liver in the spring.
Spring is an important time to detox here are some recommendations: Korean Taoist herbal grand master Insan Kim created Bamboo Salt, healing and detox tablets over one hundred years ago. Dasulgi or Divine Liver is considered one of the best Taoist herbal formulas to detoxify the Liver and Kidneys. You can order Divine Liver at www.mybamboosalt.com under healing tablets. If you use this code 20110615ny you will get a 10% discount.
You can visit the Ki Energy Center for a Chunsoo Ki Energy massage treatment which will help detoxify the Liver and Gall Bladder. Call me at 646 329-6727 to make an appointment. You can also purchase Taoist Masters Mantak and Maneewan Chia’s book Chi Nei Tsang (a Chinese Taoist massage technique similar to the Korean Taoist Chunsoo technique) Internal Organs Chi Massage; to learn how to use organ detox massage techniques.
I would also recommend three Colon Hydrotherapy sessions and Talmie de Shimadai is the person I go to. Visit her website at www.digestivehealthinst.org or call 718 676 1500.
Spring is the season of the Wood element; it is the time for detoxing.
The Immune System
The Immune system is the specialized system of cells and organs that protect the body from outside biological influences. When the Immune System is functioning properly it protects the body against bacterial and viral infections destroying cancer cells and foreign substances. If the immune System is weakens, its ability to defend the body becomes weak, allowing pathegens including viruses that cause common colds and flu.
The four basic task of the human Immune System are:
1. Recognition: To detect infection or harm.
2. Effector Function: To contain and eliminate infection
3. Regulation: Control activity to avoid damage to the body
4. Memory: To remember exposure and react immediately and strongly upon re-exposure.
Natural Killer cells (NK Cells) are the front line solders of the Immune System. They play a major role in the rejection of tumors and cells infected by viruses. They are called NK cells because they require no activation in order to kill infected cells or cells that are missing.
Stress is a major contributor to a weakened Immune System which is why over 90% of most dis-ease is attributed to stress. At the Harlem Ki Energy Center a Ki Energy stress management treatment can strengthen the Immune System by slowing the mind down and increasing NK cells. Every stressful negative emotional thought like fear, anger, anxiety or sadness has an effect on vital organs.
We tend to over work the Immune System when we are not able to allow the mind to rest. All too often our thoughts are in the past or in the future. It is only when we are in the present can the Immune System function as it should unfortunately most people are very seldom in the present.
The Korean Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) developed an organic herbal tonic HemoHim that strengthens the Immune System by producing NK cells. If you Google HemoHim you will see that it is now being used as a patented anti-cancer food. The Harlem Ki Energy Center is now a distributor or the HemoHim tonic and a number of other organic herbal products that have been developed by KAERI for health, skin and home care. Atomy is the name of the international company that is the marketing agent for this new line of super fusion technology organic herbal products.
