The Book of Answers

The I Ching also known as The Book (Ching) of Change (I) has influenced the development of mankind for over seven thousand years. Taoist master Wu Wei the internationally known author and expert on the understanding and interpretation of the I Ching; refers to this legendary oracle as the Book of Answers. Master Wei’s book “I Ching: The Book of Answers” will be a text used in my next work shop “Eight Gates Theory and Practice” which will be part  of the  City College Continuing and Professional Studies programs 2015 spring semester.

I also consider the I Ching to be a book of advice because that is what consulting the I Ching will provide. I use the yarrow stick method when consulting the I Ching there are other options the use of three coins is the most popular method used in the West. I prefer the yarrow stick method because it has been the traditional method that has been successfully used for thousands of years. It takes longer to use the yarrow method, one of the reason westerners prefer the coin method which is shorter but no as exact.

Carl Jung who was one of the most distinguished psychologists in the Western world wrote the forward in the first and at that time considered the most authentic translation of the I Ching written by Richard Wilhelm and Cary Baynes in 1949. Jung was attracted to the I Ching’s psychological applications which confirmed many of his theories of human consciousness.

When consulting the I Ching using the yarrow stick method allows the consulter to search for cosmic advise to questions by preventing the intellectually conscience mind from tampering with how the results are obtained. There is a part within each of us that knows the answers to all our questions and that will guide us in choosing the correct answer. If you would like to schedule an I Ching reading call my direct line at 646 329-6727, if you would like to learn how to consult the I Ching I invite you to register for my spring Eight Gates workshop at 212 650-7312
