Energy Medicine

A few weeks ago I wrote about my interest in research being conducted by the Noetic Science Institute (www.noetic.org) on energy healing. I often talk about the spiritual-science movement and my optimistic view of how this movement will change not only the way we look at health, but our understanding of human potential and the next stage of human evolution.

The Noetic Science Institute(NSI) is focused on research that brings modern scientific research together with ancient wisdom, to create - or recreate - a new paradigm for wellness options. One of the books on the NSI energy healing reading list is Donna Eden’s fascinating work “Energy Medicine”. Eden’s book is a guide that gives direction on ways to use the body’s energy to boost your vitality and stamina, strengthen your immune system, relieve pain and sharpen your memory and mind.

When I studied energy training in the mountains of South Korea, I learned an energy stress management treatment system called chunsoo (chun meaning heavenly and soo meaning hands) that allowed a master to reduce stress in a person by using sound vibration and touch. Chunsoo is part of an ancient Korean stress management system I call Kido (Ki meaning energy and Do meaning the way): the way of energy. We now know humans are walking energy fields and can address health by balancing their internal and external fields.

Science has identified 7 major energy centers in the body (which is ancient knowledge). Each one relates to another part of our physical-emotional-spiritual self. These energy centers are called chakras. Another part of the body’s internal energy system are energy pathways which we call meridians. The meridians connect the 360 energy channels running from the top of our head to the bottom of our feet.

The external human energy field is called the Aura. The Aura can be seen, and it’s different colors. Organizations such as First Star, an Aura photo company, have developed cameras that allow them to provide information on a person’s state of being through pictures of the Aura colors surrounding the body. Red relates to anger, orange to sensuality, yellow mental alertness, green healing, blue sadness, purple wisdom, brown grounding and black unresolved karma. While aura colors can contain over a million color variations, it is a mistake to use a cut and dried color code to diagnose a person’s true state. The above color codes can be used to give basic interpretations.

For the past few weeks I’ve been giving free Ki energy treatments at the Harlem State Office building on Wednesdays, from 12 noon to 3pm, as part of a project to see how people respond to this ancient art. If you would like to learn more about Ki Energy treatments and training visit www.kienergycenter.com, send me an email at info@kienergycenter.com or call my office at 646 329-6727. The last Ki energy stress management session at the State Office building for 2009 is on December 30th. Visit my blog at www.theartofwarogers.com if you’re interested in this subject.
