The Healing Arts from Egypt to Harlem

An illustration that dates back over 4000 years ago taken from the Physician’s Tomb at Saqqara, Egypt shows two African wellness practitioners using a therapeutic form of healing by manipulating points on the feet and hands of patients. This famous picture (Google Physician’s Tomb) is considered the first recording of touch therapy.  The Ki Energy Center in Harlem is one of the few locations in America that also provides an ancient Korean Taoist form of touch therapy.

Taoist healing arts can also be traced to the ancient Egyptian writings of Hermes. The laws of Vibration and Polarity are two of the seven Hermetic principles, and the foundation of the Taoist healing arts. All things vibrate and the Yin/Yang concept of Polarity is the most noticeable of the Hermetic laws by way of China and Korea.

In China human vital energy is call Chi and in Korea it is called Ki in the Asian healing arts Taoist touch therapy treatments are used to bring balance to the vital energy in those who are being treated. The Korean form of touch therapy practiced in the Harlem Ki Energy Center is used to address a host of health issues such as Anxiety, Back Pain, Insomnia, Stress, Depression and High Blood Pressure to name a few.
