The Lost Continent
In 360 BC Plato, one of the most recognized Greek philosophers, wrote about a lost continent in two famous dialogues, Timaeus and Critias. In each dialogue Plato talks of a continent that existed before the Ice Age called Atlantis. To this day scientists have been searching for this place of great technology and wealth that was destroyed in two days by a great flood.
Professor Arysio Santos, a nuclear physicist and one of the world's leading authorities on Atlantis, believed that the lost continent was in the Indo-Pacific Ocean among the myriad islands of Indonesia. The National Geographic Channel will air a documentary on March 13th focusing on the research of a Professor Richard Freund, that places the lost continent near the Spain Marshlands. In Critias Plato spoke of Atlantis as having an abundance of elephants. I'm not sure, but I believe the first elephants were introduced to Europe by Hannibal in his war with Rome centuries later.
There are many theories about the location of the lost continent of Atlantis and its advanced technology, which influenced the beginning of civilizations in Egypt, Asia and South America. Plato writes that the story of Atlantis was learned from Egyptian priests. Many believe that the legendary lost continent is a myth or folk tale. But the fact that scientists have found computer-like machines dating back to 200BC, and no one's been able to explain how ancient cultures in Egypt, Asia and South America acquired the knowledge and technology to build structures that still stand today, raises questions.
Many believe that extraterrestrial beings provided the jump start to our civilization, which is an easy way to explain how ancient cultures obtained such advanced technologies to achieve what they did in their time. Last year the United Nations appointed Dr. Mazian Othman director of the UN’s Office of Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) – the UN Ambassador to Extraterrestrials. Area 51, the top secret military base in Nevada, has long been considered a UFO research facility by many UFO watch groups. Perhaps they know something we don’t?
I write about this because I believe the human race is on the eve of the next stage of evolution. We know that at one time humans had technologies that we're just beginning to understand ourselves. I also believe that the Spiritual Science movement that is developing a new understanding of ancient wisdom is the first step in our understanding of who we really are. Was there once an intelligent race of people in Atlantis that provided the foundation for human evaluation but destroyed themselves with the misuse of their own technology? Did visitors from another world provide humans on earth with the technology that we're still learning to use? Perhaps there was a combination of both. I truly believe the world is close to the answers that will take the human race to the next stage of evolution.
